The Motomkali FC26 World Cup Tournament lived up to every expectation on Sunday, July 19, delivering one of Tanzania’s biggest FC 26 competitions of the year. But in the end, it wasn’t tournament favourite Hermes lifting the trophy. Instead, it was Salim who stole the spotlight.
After an amazing run on the 64-player bracket at Grand Games, Salim defeated the feared Tanzanian star 7-4 in the grand final to walk away with TSh 700,000 and a World Cup trophy. For Hermes, it was another reminder that even East Africa’s biggest names can be stopped on the biggest stage.
