The Helabet Tournament delivered exactly what Kenya’s FC gaming community expected — drama, comebacks, upsets, revenge, and one big grand finale.
But while many fans came to watch Harry Kappa’s long-awaited return from Morocco, it was Phoenix Esports star Ado who walked away with the biggest smile and the 30,000 Ksh grand prize after an unforgettable tournament run.

And honestly? This tournament had everything.
Harry Kappa Returns With A Bang
After spending several weeks competing in the eBotola league in Morocco, all eyes were on Harry Kappa during his first tournament appearance back in Kenya.
And from the very first match, it was clear the man had returned sharp. Kappa opened his Helabet Tournament campaign with a dominant 9-4 victory over Absolute Mololo before producing one of the craziest comebacks Kenyan FC gaming has seen in years.
At one point, he was trailing Z Esports star Collo Gamer 6-2 on aggregate. Most players would have mentally collapsed there. But not Kappa.

The 2025 Betika tournament winner somehow flipped the script completely and fought back to win 9-8 in a comeback that instantly became one of the biggest talking points of the tournament. That victory seemed to ignite something in him.
Kappa then thrashed Phoenix Esports player Ado 8-4 before continuing his strong run into the grand finals stage. He edged Mohabi 8-7 in a tense match before surviving another close battle against Sam Jr with the same scoreline.
Then came the clash everybody wanted to see; Harry Kappa vs Prorate. As expected, the semi-final turned into a goalscoring festival. Every attack looked dangerous and every goal felt massive. But in the end, Kappa narrowly edged Prorate to secure his place in the grand final.
Waiting for him there was Ado. The same player he had comfortably beaten earlier in the tournament.
Most fans expected Kappa to complete the story. The comeback against Collo. The Morocco return. The momentum. Everything seemed perfectly set up for him to win it all.
But Ado had other plans. The grand final turned into a tense back-and-forth battle that stayed alive until the closing moments. Then came the killer blow — a late Samuel Eto’o goal that sealed a dramatic 4-3 victory for Ado.
Helabet Tournament Prize Pool Distribution
Ado walked away with the Helabet Tournament title and 30,000 Ksh prize money, while Harry Kappa earned 20,000 Ksh as first runner-up after a sensational tournament run.

Meanwhile, TR Esports teammates Trex and Prorate chose not to play the third-place playoff and instead shared the 10,000 Ksh second runners-up prize.

In the ladies category, the competition featured notable names like Bernice and Starlight, with Starlight eventually emerging champion from the 10,000 Ksh ladies prize pool.
Big Names Crash Out Early
The Helabet Tournament was brutal for several household names in Kenya’s FC scene.
Players like:
- Fox in the Box
- Jojo Depay
- Lord7
- AJ Milito
all suffered early exits and failed to reach the top 16 grand finals stage. That alone shows just how competitive the tournament was.
Masinga Ooko Promises Helabet Tournament Edition 2
The first edition of the tournament was organized by Helabet affiliate marketer Masinga Ooko, with betting company providing a combined 70,000 Ksh prize pool across both the men’s and ladies categories.
And according to Ooko, this is only the beginning.
“The turnout and support were honestly bigger than we expected. This is definitely not the last one. We are already planning Helabet Tournament Edition 2, which could happen before or after the FIFA World Cup 2026. And this time, the prize pool will be even bigger.”
