Some players win tournaments. Others create stories that people will still be talking about weeks later. Lord7 did the second one.
The East African FIFA/FC veteran was one of the biggest names attending the FC 26 TI-TECH Tournament in Naivasha on Saturday. But before he could even settle in, disaster struck.
Lord7 arrived late. His opening match in the winners bracket was awarded to his opponent, meaning he was immediately thrown into the losers bracket without touching the controller. For most players, that would have been the end. For Lord7, it was just the beginning.

The Losers Bracket Run That Nobody Could Stop
With no room for error, Lord7 began one of the most impressive runs seen in Kenyan FC 26 this season.

His first victim was Chege, who was swept aside 6-1. Next came Wayne, one of Nakuru’s most respected players. This time the challenge was much tougher, but Lord7 edged out a narrow 4-3 victory to keep his hopes alive. From there, the floodgates opened. 1960 was dispatched 5-1. Sam Ti suffered a brutal 6-0 defeat. By this point, everyone in the venue knew exactly what was happening. Lord7 was coming.
Scad’s Dream Ends
One of the biggest talking points coming into the tournament was SC Gamer Scad. Fresh from winning the Safaricom Hook Tournament, many believed he could make it back-to-back titles.

Instead, he ran into Lord7. The clash delivered exactly what fans expected, with both players pushing each other to the limit. In the end, Lord7 survived with a narrow 4-3 victory, ending Scad’s hopes of another tournament win. The win was significant for Naivasha 1. If anyone still doubted the comeback was real, they certainly didn’t after that.
Chibu Falls as Lord7 Reaches the Final
Standing between Lord7 and the grand final was Vincent Odinga, better known as Chibu. Chibu had put together a strong tournament and looked capable of stopping the charge. Instead, Lord7 continued his march. A 4-2 victory booked his place in the final and completed an unbelievable losers bracket run. But the toughest challenge was still waiting.
Tank Takes Control, Then Lord7 Strikes Back
Waiting in the grand final was SC1 Tank. One of the most consistent players in FC 26, Tank had quietly navigated his way through the winners bracket and looked ready to claim the title.

The first final was a thriller. Lord7 edged Tank 5-4 to reset the bracket and force a second match. Then came the decisive showdown. Tank looked set to stop the comeback story and raced into a 2-0 lead. At that moment, it felt like Lord7 had finally run out of lives. He hadn’t. The veteran dug deep, turned the game around and completed yet another comeback, defeating Tank 5-4 once again to lift the FC 26 TITECH Tournament trophy.

A Champion’s Performance
Considering how the day started, it’s hard to imagine a more dramatic path to victory. Lord7 was effectively eliminated before he even touched a controller. Yet by the end of the day, he had beaten Chege, Wayne, 1960, A Sam Ti, Scad, Chibu and Tank twice to complete one of the best tournament runs East African FC fans have seen this year.
For his efforts, Lord7 walked away with Ksh 4,500. Tank earned Ksh 3,000 for finishing second. Chibu received Ksh 1,500 for claiming third place. The fourth and fifth-place finishers took home Ksh 1,000 and Ksh 500 respectively.
Meanwhile, two of the pre-tournament favourites endured disappointing campaigns. Scad’s journey ended in fourth place despite arriving in Naivasha as the reigning Safaricom Hook champion. AJ, who had recently won the Rama Gaming Hub FC 26 Tournament, suffered an early exit after losses in both the winners and losers brackets.
