Z Esports sign Viper as the club continues its rebuilding project following the departures of star duo Shaq and Collo Gamer earlier this month.
Once regarded as the strongest EA SPORTS FC 26 team in Kenya, Z Esports has been busy reshaping its squad after losing two of its biggest names to rivals Phoenix Esports. Their latest move sees one of Eastlands finest Richard, better known by his gamer tag Viper, put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

It’s a statement signing for a club determined to climb back to the top.
Z Esports Sign Viper to Strengthen Young Squad
Viper may not have previously represented one of Kenya’s established esports organizations, but Z Esports believes they have found another player capable of making a name for himself on the biggest stages.

Speaking after confirming the deal, the club’s manager Floky welcomed Viper to the squad while stating that the newest addition will soon be a big name in the industry.
“We’re delighted to have Viper on board and we’re looking forward to helping him become a great player, just like the other young talents in our team. We have seen his potential and believe he has what it takes to be one of the household names in the industry.”
Viper now joins a youthful lineup that includes:
- Raven
- O’nil
- Tornado
- Frazer (the team’s only female player)
Z Esports sign Viper shows the team remains committed to investing in young talent rather than chasing already established stars.
Life After Shaq and Collo
Replacing Shaq and Collo Gamer was never going to be easy. The two parted ways with Z Esports just two weeks ago before completing high-profile moves to Phoenix Esports. Since joining their new club, both players have wasted no time making headlines.

Each has already lifted a tournament trophy, helping Phoenix announce itself as one of the hottest teams in the East African FC 26 scene. Their success has naturally shifted attention away from Z Esports, but the former powerhouse appears determined to write a new chapter instead of looking back.

A Club Built on Winning
It wasn’t long ago that Z Esports boasted one of the most feared squads in East Africa.
The club’s lineup featured stars such as:
- Shaq
- Collo Gamer
- Trex
- Bashir
Trex kicked off the FC 26 season in spectacular fashion by winning the highly anticipated Rangers Tournament and pocketing KSh 90,000.

Meanwhile, Ugandan sensation Bashir enjoyed success in Kenya by winning two tournaments before returning home, where he has continued to impress against some of East Africa’s best players. That generation helped establish Z Esports as one of the region’s benchmark organizations.
Why This Transfer Matters
Every great team eventually faces change. For Z Esports, losing Shaq and Collo could have marked the end of an era. Instead, the club has chosen to trust another young player and continue building for the future.
Whether Viper becomes the next breakout star remains to be seen, but one thing is already clear: Z Esports isn’t standing still. With a young squad, a long-term vision and another promising player through the door, the rebuilding process is well underway.
