SC FIFA Tournament Nakuru gave Kenya’s new EA SPORTS FC 27 season exactly the kind of start competitive players had been waiting for, with 27 gamers filling King P Gaming Arena and Wayne eventually walking away with the win after one of the most dramatic finishes possible.
The tournament brought together some of Nakuru’s strongest players, including Chibu, Chocho, AJ, M1000, HD and Wayne, while Nairobi was also represented by Kile.

And by the time the final whistle was gone, the story had become bigger than Wayne simply winning the tournament. Kile had forced him to do it twice.
The prize pool also gave the tournament something real to fight for:
- 1st: KSh 3,000
- 2nd: KSh 2,000
- 3rd: KSh 1,000
- 4th: KSh 500
Wayne took the biggest share. Kile left with the runner-up prize after coming within one game of completing one of the wildest comeback runs of the tournament. AJ finished third as Chibu secured the fourth position.

Wayne Starts His SC Esports Chapter With a Trophy
For Wayne, this was the perfect way to begin his SC Esports chapter. It was his first tournament since joining the team, and he did not waste much time making an impression.
His opening result against Eugene was a huge 13-1 win. Then came Andrew, who Wayne defeated 3-0. Chibu put up a stronger fight, but Wayne still came through with an 8-4 victory before beating Fredy 6-0 in the Winners Bracket semifinal.
The run had a clear pattern.
Wayne was scoring heavily and moving through the bracket with very little trouble. Then came AJ.

AJ had been putting together a serious run of his own, taking down Kirobi 15-13, TitechG20 5-2, M1000 6-3 and Orandi 7-4.
The Winners Final therefore had the feel of a proper Nakuru showdown. Wayne won it 10-6, sending AJ into the losers bracket.
Wayne was heading to the Grand Final. At that point, it looked like the new SC player was firmly in control. Then Kile arrived.
Kile Turns the Tournament Upside Down
Kile had one of the toughest starts imaginable.
His opening match was against M1000, and he lost 9-5. That meant there was no room for another mistake. Instead of disappearing from the tournament, Kile produced the run of the day.
He went through the losers bracket and kept knocking players out one after another:
- Mark, 4-2
- Kirobi, 7-1
- Davey, 4-3
- Chocho, 7-0
- Fredy, 4-2
- Chibu, 6-4
- AJ, 4-2
And some of those were against players who had already shown they could challenge anyone in the tournament. The biggest statement may have been the 6-4 win over Chibu, followed by the 4-2 victory against AJ in the Losers Final.
Suddenly, the player who had lost his opening match was back in the Grand Final. That is what double elimination tournaments can do. One bad start doesn’t always kill you. Sometimes it just creates a ridiculous comeback story.
SC FIFA Tournament Ends With a Grand Final Reset

Kile had already done the hard part. He had survived the losers bracket.
Now he had to beat Wayne. And he did.
Kile stunned the tournament favorite with a 3-2 victory, forcing a Grand Final reset and giving himself another shot at the title.
But the final match went Wyane’s way. He beat Kile 4-3 to secure the tournament title.
It was a fitting ending to a tournament that had spent hours refusing to follow a simple script. Wayne started as the dominant force. Kile became the comeback machine.
In the end, Wayne got the last word.
Nakuru’s FC 27 Scene Shows Its Depth
One of the biggest positives from the event was the turnout. 27 players showed up for the tournament, bringing together a strong collection of Nakuru competitors and a player travelling from Nairobi.
Names such as Chibu, Chocho, AJ, M1000, HD and Wayne were all part of the field.
That matters because FC 27 is still new, and tournaments like this are where players begin figuring out the new game’s competitive patterns.
There is no better way to understand a new game than playing someone who is just as hungry to win. For Nakuru, the event also showed that the city has plenty of players ready to compete.
And the fact that competitors from outside Nakuru were also willing to make the trip gives these local tournaments an even bigger feel.
SC Esports Welcomes the New FC 27 Era
The tournament was organised by SC Esports, who later praised the Nakuru gaming community for showing up.
The team’s manager Sidney described the event as a success and highlighted the talent in the city, saying:
“Nakuru gamers got talent. Nairobi gamers are not ready for you in FC 27. Big up to all gamers who showed up participated , every pro gamer journey usually starts at SC Tournaments, you can never afford to miss Congratulations to the winners. See you on the next one, 2nd edition.”
Why This SC FIFA Tournament Matters

The result matters beyond one Sunday in Nakuru. It gives SC Esports a strong start with Wayne immediately winning after joining the team.
It shows that Nakuru still has a competitive pool deep enough to produce long runs from several players. And it gives Kile an early FC 27 storyline that is impossible to ignore.
He lost his first match 9-5. Then he won seven straight. That is the kind of tournament run players talk about for weeks.
For Wayne, though, the feeling will be very different. He has his first tournament win. And he could hardly have asked for a better introduction to life at SC Esports.
