Prorate free agent is now one of the biggest stories in the Kenyan FC scene after Caleb Kibet parted ways with TR Esports, bringing an end to a chapter that produced some of the most impressive results of his FC career.
The timing makes the move even more interesting.

FC 26 is closing its chapter and the competitive community is turning its attention towards EA SPORTS FC 27. And Prorate will enter that new game cycle without a team.

For a player coming off one of his strongest international seasons, that makes this a major development.
Prorate Free Agent After TR Esports Split
Prorate is no longer affiliated with TR Esports following the expiry of his contract. TR was not simply another team on the tournament circuit. The squad built a reputation through results, with Prorate playing a major role in that run.

His biggest achievements while representing TR included:
- Three straight Africa Ultimate Series titles
- Winning the Rivalry Series 2026 with Kenya
- Being named Rivalry Series Player of the Tournament
- Reaching the Final Stage of the SportsBiz Africa Esports Cup
That is a serious body of work. And prior to joining TR, Prorate had already made headlines by winning the the Kenya Esports Series Nairobi edition.
Prorate’s Biggest International Moment Came in Lagos
If there was one tournament that perfectly captured Prorate’s FC 26 season, it was the Rivalry Series in Lagos. Kenya entered the competition for the first time alongside Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.
The Kenyan lineup eventually became Prorate and Shaq after Harry Kappa was unable to make the trip, with Prorate moving from his expected coaching role into the starting lineup.
What followed was remarkable.
Prorate went through the tournament unbeaten:
- 4 wins
- 0 losses
- 12 points
- +7 goal difference
- Player of the Tournament
Kenya also finished first in the team standings with 10 points and an unbeaten record. For Prorate, it was the kind of international performance that changes how a player is viewed.
He did not just participate. He dominated.
Kigali Added Another Chapter
The momentum continued into the SportsBiz Africa Esports Cup in Kigali.
Prorate finished second in Group C with 13 points, earning his place in the Final Stage alongside some of Africa’s biggest FC 26 names.
His run eventually ended after defeats to Toxic Joe and Anas Badr, but reaching the Final Stage still put him among the players competing at the sharp end of one of Africa’s biggest FC tournaments.
It also showed something important about his season.
Prorate was no longer simply producing results inside Kenya. He was doing it against international opposition. That international experience will now follow him into FC 27.
What Happens to TR Esports Now?
For TR Esports, the departure creates an obvious hole.
Prorate had become an important part of the team’s identity and competitive success, particularly during the Africa Ultimate Series run and the team’s wider rise through the Kenyan FC scene.
The question now is what the team does next.
Will TR rebuild around its remaining players?
Will another player step into Prorate’s position?
Or will the organisation make a bigger move as FC 27 approaches?
Those answers are still unknown.
Why the Timing Matters for FC 27
This is where the move gets really interesting. The start of a new FC game always changes the competitive landscape.
Players reassess their teams. Organizations look at their rosters. New players emerge. Established names become available. Rivalries can change overnight.
Prorate enters that period with something many players would love to have: recent international success. He is coming off a season in which he won major online competitions, lifted a trophy in Lagos and earned individual recognition as the Rivalry Series’ best player.
That gives his next move plenty of attention. But for now, there is no confirmed destination. And that uncertainty is part of what makes the story interesting.
Kenya’s FC Scene Will Be Watching

Prorate has already moved through several chapters of Kenyan esports. He built his name with Horizon, reached the Betika Esports Showdown final and won KSh 250,000 before later becoming part of the TR Esports project.
Now another chapter has closed. The next one will begin with FC 27.
There is no need to guess where he will end up. The important thing is that one of Kenya’s established competitive players is available at exactly the moment teams are preparing for a new game.
For Kenyan FC fans, that means another transfer story is already taking shape. And for the teams watching the market, Prorate is a name that will be difficult to ignore.
The Prorate free agent chapter begins with a player leaving TR Esports after one of the strongest periods of his career.
