The result will not surprise many within the Kenyan FC community. Although still a relatively new team, TR Esports has assembled one of the most decorated squads in the country. Prorate’s biggest career achievement came when he finished runner-up at the 2025 Betika tournament, earning Ksh. 250,000 while representing Horizon Esports. Trex previously lifted the Rangers tournament title while playing for Z Esports, taking home Ksh. 90,000. Lil Pip also enjoyed major success during his time with PlugnPlay Esports, winning UGX 2 million (Ksh.70,000) at a star-studded tournament in Uganda.
Together, those proven winners once again showed why TR Esports is already viewed as one of the teams to beat in Kenyan FC 26.
Phoenix Unveils New Signings
The event also served another important purpose for Phoenix Esports. Manager Didz Jr officially introduced the team’s newest signings, brothers Prince and Jesse, who both made their debuts in Phoenix colours during the money match.
Jesse was handed arguably the toughest assignment of the evening as he faced Prorate in the headline matchup, while Prince went up against Trex. Although both newcomers lost their respective matches, the money match marked the beginning of their journey with Phoenix Esports.
Why This Result Matters
The Phoenix Esports vs TR Esports showdown was about far more than the Ksh. 12,000 prize pool. It was the first major money match involving TR Esports and offered one of the clearest looks yet at how the newly assembled squad performs under pressure. With serial tournament winners spread across the roster, TR Esports has sent an early warning to every team in the Kenyan FC 26 scene.
For Phoenix Esports, there were still positives despite the defeat. Sam Jr delivered the team’s only victory of the evening, while Prince and Jesse gained valuable experience in their first outing as Phoenix players. One thing is certain; the rivalry between these two teams has only just begun.
Conclusion
The first edition of Phoenix Esports vs TR Esports ended in convincing fashion, with TR Esports securing a 3-1 victory and taking home Ksh. 9,000. If this contest is anything to go by, fans can expect even bigger money matches between two of Kenya’s most exciting FC 26 teams in the months ahead.
