Wayne SC Esports is the latest chapter for Nakuru gamer Wayne Kangala, and this one comes with much bigger expectations.
The former Rangers Esports player has officially joined SC Esports, adding another experienced name to a roster that already includes some of Kenya’s familiar FC players.
For Wayne, it is more than simply changing teams. It is a chance to step into a bigger environment and show what he can do when the stakes get higher.
Wayne SC Esports Comes With Big Ambitions
SC Esports manager Sidney Okutoi is not hiding what the team wants from the new signing.
The plan is to help Wayne take his game to another level, compete among Kenya’s best and eventually break onto the international stage.

Sidney says the team’s ambitions include major competitions such as the eLigue 1 Tour in France and international EA SPORTS FC events in Saudi Arabia.

“We have big plans for Wayne at SC Esports. We want to take him to the next level, help him become one of Kenya’s best gamers and give him the platform to compete on the international stage,” Sidney said.
“Our ambitions include tournaments such as the eLigue 1 Tour, SportsBiz Africa Esports Cup and major international events such as the Esports Nations Cup. We believe Wayne has the talent to compete at that level.”
The eLigue 1 Tour has already been one of the biggest pathways for Kenyan FC players to gain international exposure, while the Esports Nations Cup has shown just how difficult the road to global competition can be.
Meanwhile, the recently concluded SportsBiz Africa Esports Cup showed the world the level of talent that Kenyan pros have, with the likes of Prorate and Harry Kappa reaching the quarterfinals of the star-studded event.

SC wants Wayne to be ready when such opportunities come during the FC 27 season.
Nakuru Has Already Seen What Wayne Can Do
Wayne does not arrive at SC without a record. During the FC 26 season, the Nakuru gamer won two tournaments in Nakuru and added another tournament victory in Kakamega.
Those wins helped cement him as one of the consistent names in the Nakuru gaming scene.
He has also spent time around the competitive circuit with Rangers Esports, gaining experience in an environment where every tournament can bring another difficult opponent.

Now the challenge changes. Instead of only chasing individual tournament wins, Wayne has a team behind him with bigger ambitions.
And that could be important as FC 27 gets underway.
From Rangers to a Strong SC Esports Roster
Wayne joins an SC Esports squad that already has plenty of familiar faces.
The current roster includes:
- Ibrah
- Tank
- Scad
- Kile
- Davey
- Venom
- Wayne
That gives Wayne the chance to train and compete alongside players who have already built their own reputations in the Kenyan FC scene.
For a player looking to improve, that kind of environment can matter just as much as the name on the shirt. There will be competition for places. There will be pressure. And there will be plenty of opportunities to test himself.
Wayne Is Ready for the New Chapter

Wayne himself says he is excited about the move.
“I’m delighted to join SC Esports. They are a big team with ambitious plans, and I’m excited to be part of this group. I believe this is a great opportunity for me to grow as a player, compete at a higher level and challenge myself against some of the best gamers in Kenya. I’m looking forward to this new chapter and everything we can achieve together.” He said.
For a player from Nakuru, the move represents another step towards the bigger stage. The talent was already there. Now comes the question of what happens when that talent gets a bigger platform.
Why Wayne SC Esports Matters
Transfers like this are important for the Kenyan FC scene because they show that players from outside Nairobi can continue finding their way into major competitive teams.
Nakuru has a strong gaming community, and Wayne has been one of its consistent names.
His move also gives SC another player who can compete for tournament wins while giving Wayne access to a team with clear ambitions beyond local competition.
That makes the signing interesting for both sides. SC gets another competitive player. Wayne gets a fresh environment. And FC 27 gets another storyline to follow.
